Who we are
This website is operated by Big Hills DR S.R.L., a property developer registered in the Dominican Republic, with its sales office in Cabarete, Puerto Plata province.nFor anything in this policy, write to sales@bighillsdr.com or call +1 (829) 274-6673. We answer in English, Spanish or Russian.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry form: your name, your email address, your phone or WhatsApp number if you choose to give one, the project you said you are interested in, the message you wrote, and which page the form was on.nWhen you write or call us directly: your contact details and whatever you tell us in that conversation, so that we can carry on the discussion later.nAutomatically, at our hosting provider: the usual web server records – IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you.nThe form also carries a hidden field that only automated bots fill in. If it is filled in, or the email address is not a working address, the message is discarded without being read.
How we measure the site
We load Google Tag Manager, and through it Google Analytics. It tells us how many people read a page, which country they are in, how they found us and which pages lead to an enquiry. It sets cookies in your browser and passes that data to Google, who process it for us.nIt measures visits, not people we can name: your name, email and phone reach us only through the form, and they are never sent to Google. If you prefer not to be counted, any browser setting or extension that blocks Google Analytics stops it, and the site works exactly the same.
What we do not do
We run no advertising pixels and no social media trackers, and we build no advertising profile of you.nFonts and images are served from our own server, so apart from the measurement above, no third party learns that you visited a page here.nWe do not sell, rent or trade your data. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question – if we ever start a newsletter, it will be a separate, explicit opt-in.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
To answer your enquiry and send you the material you asked for – prices, availability, floor plans, payment schedules, site photographs. You gave us the data for exactly this, which is our consent basis.nTo keep a record of a conversation with a potential buyer, so that a colleague can pick it up and you do not have to repeat yourself. This is our legitimate interest in running a sales office.nIf a purchase goes ahead: to prepare and perform the contract, and to satisfy Dominican tax, notarial and anti-money-laundering obligations. Here the law, not your consent, decides what we must keep.
Who else sees it
The service providers who run this site and our mail for us: our web hosting company, the platform that receives the form and forwards it, and our email provider. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.nIf a transaction proceeds: the lawyer and the notary handling it, and the public registries where a title must be recorded. That part is unavoidable in a Dominican property purchase.nPublic authorities, where Dominican law obliges us to hand data over.nIf you contact us on WhatsApp, that conversation also passes through Meta, under its own privacy policy. If you would rather it did not, use email or the form.
Where it is processed
Our website and mail infrastructure sits with providers in the European Union and the United States, so your data leaves the Dominican Republic when you write to us. It stays protected by the contracts we hold with those providers, and it is handled to the standard set out in this policy wherever it is stored.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead anywhere: up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we do.nBuyers: for as long as the contractual relationship lasts, and after that for the period Dominican tax and notarial rules require.nServer logs: a short rolling window at the hosting provider, measured in weeks, after which they are overwritten.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold on you, have it corrected, have it deleted, ask us to stop using it, or withdraw a consent you gave earlier. Withdrawing consent does not undo what was lawful before it.nThese rights come from Dominican Law 172-13 on the protection of personal data. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we also honour the rights the GDPR gives you, including the right to complain to your national data protection authority.nWrite to sales@bighillsdr.com. We reply within 30 days, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first so that we do not hand your data to someone else.
Security, children, other sites
The site is served over HTTPS and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect, and we will tell you without delay if a breach ever affects your data.nThis site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.nPages here link to outside sites – a map, a law firm, a messaging app. Once you follow such a link, that site's own privacy policy applies, not this one.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we change this page and the date at the top of it. Material changes affecting people who already wrote to us will be sent by email.
Ask us to delete it
One line to sales@bighillsdr.com is enough. No form, no account, no explanation needed.
